The Beyond CSR: Business As A Force For Good, Leadership & Government Plenary Session, Education Plenary Session & Disability


It is very inspiring to listen to businesses driving change to solve the problems affecting the world. We had the opportunity to listen to the stories of great companies like L’Oreal, Accenture and Johnson & Johnson. Annet Eijkelkamp, Director of Employee Engagement of the Johnson & Johnson Global Community Impact Group (EMEA) region and Amy Richmond, Director of Child Protection in Emergencies – International Programs, Save the Children share the impact Johnson & Johnson and Save The Children are making into the lives of children. It is with great pride to be part of the Johnson & Johnson Scholarship Program at the One Young World Summit as we join hands to together to support Save The Children initiative to provide solutions to the problems facing children around the world by donating a photo and with every photo we donate Johnson & Johnson donates a dollar to the Save The Children initiative. Moreover, as part of the Johnson & Johnson One Young World Program, Johnson & Johnson is supporting local NGO in Columbia to address the problems of teenage pregnancy. We had the opportunity to listen to exceptional individuals such as DeRay Mckessonof Black Lives Matter, Denise Young Smith Apple’s vice president of Inclusion and Diversity, The AnnaLynne McCord American actress, Stephen Daldry is a three-time Oscar nominated director and Mohamed Amersi Founder & CEO of Emergent Telecom Ventures & Head of the Amersi Foundation promoting diversity and social inclusion to foster development across the world. During the Education Plenary Session, we had the opportunity to listen to Peter Schwarzenbauer Board of Management of BMW Group on the prospects of the company to solve the world’s problems. We also had the opportunity to listen to celebrities such as Tinie Tempah and Cher. Tinie Tempah, shared his passion for education, his humble beginnings and encouraging the youth to be entrepreneurs and chase their dreams. Cher, Singer and Oscar-Winning Actress shared her story and initiative to stop maltreatment of animals in captivity. Finally, the most inspiring moment of the day was the disability session with Oscar Anderson, a disability activist and Caroline Caseywho developed an initiative to recognize the rights and social inclusion of the disabled. She shared her story with the audience as she rode on a horse across Columbia and challenged 500 businesses to create an equal society for the disabled.
