The Change Maker Interview Series At One Young World Summit With Johnson & Johnson


Our CEO, Abdul Samed Zurak had the opportunity to share his story to the One Young World audience at the Johnson & Johnson booth. The interview highlighted the community based impact Zurak Cancer Foundation is running to stem the prevalence rate of cancer. It was an inspiring moment as it creates an avenue for dialogue with the audience on the need to foster the fight against non-communicable diseases especially in Africa.

    I was diagnosed as HEPATITIS B carrier in 2013 with fibrosis of the
    liver already present. I started on antiviral medications which
    reduced the viral load initially. After a couple of years the virus
    became resistant. I started on HEPATITIS B Herbal treatment from

Yesterday, our volunteers attended the convergence on sustainability at Ashesi University to participate in a dialogue to map the emerging trends of sustainable innovative solutions and the type of leadership required to deal with issues related to sustainable development. The Mzuzah Africa Convergence on Sustainability has emerged with the understanding that only Sustainable Thinking Leaders are capable of providing the most ap propriate solutions to the present problems of African societies. Mzuzah provides a platform for debate, analysis and collaboration between current and future leaders interested in discussing sustainable solutions to the regions challenges with innovative lens. Only innovation and creativity will ensure workable, stable and realistic solutions to Africa's contemporary issues. This initiative forms part of our One Year Volunteer Program to provide the platform for young people to engage in strategy and policy design for future innovations.
