Zurak Cancer Foundation Organizes Breast Cancer Awareness Program At University of Ghana, Legon

Zurak Cancer Foundation organized a Breast Cancer Awareness Program to commemorate the Breast Cancer Awareness Program in October. Over the past years, Zurak Cancer Foundation has been organizing awareness programs with regards to the prevalence types of cancer in Ghana. Zurak Cancer Foundation has seen some upgrade in it's endeavors concerning the Breast Cancer Awareness Program. This year, the awareness program comes with a breast cancer education video by Beyond The Shock, a self breast cancer examination video, a movie by the Pink Pearl Foundation, a documentary on breast cancer by Al Jazeera and a message from our Breast Cancer Ambassador (Jahayra Luciano "Jadiluc").

The program commenced with introduction from the Ghana Muslim Students Association Women's Commissioner, the Vice Chairman of Zurak Cancer Foundation (Mohammed Amin Zurak) and the Founder/Chairman of Zurak Cancer Foundation (Abdul Samed Zurak). The hall was filled with high enthusiastic youth waiting to see what Zurak Cancer Foundation brings onto the table.

The audience were thrilled with Breast Cancer Education from Beyond The Shock and we are glad for their rapt attention during the event.

It was a great moment during the movie session from the Pink Pearl Foundation. The movie is titled Living Funeral. Living funeral is short movie aimed at creating awareness on breast cancer and its about a young girl battling with breast cancer in the last days of her life arranges a farewell for her family to help ease their pain.

We moved on to the documentary session which reveals several myths regarding breast cancer in Ghana and the challenges health professionals face regarding the disease in Ghana.

Finally, we had the "Jadiluc Moment" where we had our Breast Cancer Ambassador share her story on her journey to recovery as a cancer patients.

We took on the questions and answer session where we answered questions from the audience and also tackle certain misconceptions about the disease the audience believe or know.

We had Fatima Saeed as the winner of our "Jadiluc Moment" where she will stand the chance to have an exclusive session with our ambassador for our Breast Cancer Awareness Program.
