The World Cancer Day is a day set aside by the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) to support the goals and objectives of the World Cancer Declaration, which was written in the year 2008. It is an international day marked on 4th of February every year to raise awareness of cancer and to encourage its prevention, detection, and treatment. The day was set aside by the international community to increase awareness and education on cancer with the slogan "We can. I can". Zurak Cancer Foundation honored its members during the Merck eHealth Meet Up End of Year Party. The Merck eHealth Meet Up is a monthly series inviting players in the health innovation industry to discuss solutions to health challenges in Ghana. Zurak Cancer Foundation is incubating under the Merck Entrepreneurial Development Space (MEDspace) and the organization played a vital role during the monthly series. We have successfully completed our selection process out of the high numbers we recorded for the interview session. We are so excited about the candidates we selected for the One Year Volunteer Program. We have selected individuals with exceptional qualities and commitment to change. Based on our selection, we developed a strategy to have control over the southern, middle and northern belt of the country as we are looking forward to capture the whole of Ghana when we are 5 years in operation. Next year, we will be 4 years and we strongly believe this is the best beginning.

The CEOs of Zurak Cancer Foundation, Abdul Samed Zurak and Aspire Coronation Trust (ACT), Ms. Osayi Alile together with Ndifreke Okwuegbunam, Head of Programmes, ACT Foundation met today at Labadi Beach Hotel to discuss the prospects of expanding ACT Foundation’s projects in Ghana. Aspire Coronation Trust (ACT) Foundation is a grant making organization established in 2016 to support local, national and regional non - profit organizations working to address challenges and associated vulnerabilities across the African Continent. Their vision is to leverage relationships to create effective social impact solutions across Africa, with a Mission to build sustainable societies by engaging initiatives that unleash potential and empowers beneficiaries. Their focus areas for intervention are Health, Entrepreneurship, Environment and Leadership. Next year, we would be providing the opportunity to twenty (20) young people to participate in our endeavors. As part of our transition, we have designed a comprehensive volunteer program for young people who would like to make an impact into their societies. This program is expected to provide the platform for young people to gain first hand experience in organizational management, networking and policy design for high impact initiatives to solve the problems of the society.

Breast Cancer Awareness Tertiary Tour At GTUC

Zurak Cancer Foundation in collaboration with So Social Multimedia and Ghana Technology University College extended its Breast Cancer Awareness Program at university to educate students on Breast Cancer prevention. The event featured a two (2) sessions with first session featuring an education on Breast Cancer and self breast examination. The next session featured a documentary from Anas Armeyaw Anas on Breast Cancer prevalence in Africa and a movie from our partners in Nigeria dubbed "Living Funeral" a real life story of a Breast Cancer patient as she shares her story on the difficulties she goes through everyday as a Breast Cancer patient. The event was support by Sweden Ghana Medical Center who provided us with Oncologist to take the audience through a technical aspect of the disease.
