Chairman/Founder of Zurak Cancer Foundation Nominated For Africa Youth Awards

The Chairman/Founder of Zurak Cancer Foundation Abdul Samed Zurak has been nominated for Health Personality at the Africa Youth Awards.Over 170 young Africans and organisations from 35 African countries have been announced as Finalists for the 2016 Africa Youth Awards. The shortlisted nominees, who were announced on the 7th December, have been progressed to the final stages and are currently being voted for by the public ahead of the announcement of winners on 1st January, 2017. Voting which can be done on www.africayouthawards.org/vote is expected to end on 28th December. The Awards which will be hosted during the Heads of State Summit in Addis Ababa next year, is in partnership with the African Youth Commission, Avance Media, Global Skills Exchange, My Naija Naira and Dream Ambassadors Foundation GH. The Chairman/ Founder of Zurak Cancer Foundation Abdul Samed Zurak was selected to take part in the second cohort of the British Council's Active Citizens Leadership Programme. Out the 15 fellows selected across Ghana, the purpose of the programme is to support young, emerging change-makers and social entrepreneurs to create sustainable social, environmental and cultural impact. The first engagement of the as a selected Active Citizen, is a 4-day training programme organized by the British Council with a UK-based trainer, Karl Belizaire.

Zurak Cancer Foundation organized a Breast Cancer Awareness Program to commemorate the Breast Cancer Awareness Program in October. Over the past years, Zurak Cancer Foundation has been organizing awareness programs with regards to the prevalence types of cancer in Ghana. Zurak Cancer Foundation has seen some upgrade in it's endeavors concerning the Breast Cancer Awareness Program. This year, the awareness program comes with a breast cancer education video by Beyond The Shock, a self breast cancer examination video, a movie by the Pink Pearl Foundation, a documentary on breast cancer by Al Jazeera and a message from our Breast Cancer Ambassador (Jahayra Luciano "Jadiluc"). Zurak Cancer Foundation unveils Jahayra Luciano "Jadi Luc" as its ambassador for the upcoming breast cancer awareness program to educate the youth about breast cancer in various communities within the suburb of Accra. Zurak Cancer Foundation is very excited with this partnership with the singer to share her story as a cancer survivor with the youth in order to raise awareness about the disease and its prevalence in Africa. Jahayra Luciano, professionally known as “Jadi Luc” is an American R&B Pop singer of Dance Club, Salsa and House music. She is anticipated to be an important part of the resurgence of the Retro Dance Music & Neo-Salsa movement in New York Metropolitan Area. The liver is the largest gland in the human body. It weighs approximately 3 lb (1.36 kg). It is reddish brown in color and is divided into four lobes of different sizes and lengths. It is also the largest internal organ (the largest organ is the skin). It is below the diaphragm on the right in the thoracic region of the abdomen. Hepatitis Awareness Train

Zurak Cancer Foundation began its maiden Hepatitis Awareness Train to educate individuals about the Hepatitis Virus regarding the risk factors, signs and symptoms, prevention, diagnosis and treatment options. This initiative comes with a video to be displayed to students at various schools within the Madina community a suburb of Accra in order to raise awareness about the infectious disease just like the HIV virus.
