Zurak Cancer Foundation; a policy oriented and service delivery youth run non-governmental organization (NGO) providing innovative solutions to the cancer prevalence in the country through awareness, education and free screening programs in hard to reach communities and slums and Claron Health International; an innovative medical and preventive health insitution providing access to quality healthcare to the Gha naian community signs a Memorandum of Understanding to work together in healthcare delivery in Ghana. The partnership entails screenings for specific types of cancers including prostate, breast and cervical cancer. It also includes training programs for the Zurak Cancer Foundation team and health promotion services to create awareness on disease prevention in the Ghana. Yesterday, our volunteers attended the convergence on sustainability at Ashesi University to participate in a dialogue to map the emerging trends of sustainable innovative solutions and the type of leadership required to deal with issues related to sustainable development. The Mzuzah Africa Convergence on Sustainability has emerged with the understanding that only Sustainable Thinking Leaders are capable of providing the most ap propriate solutions to the present problems of African societies. Mzuzah provides a platform for debate, analysis and collaboration between current and future leaders interested in discussing sustainable solutions to the regions challenges with innovative lens. Only innovation and creativity will ensure workable, stable and realistic solutions to Africa's contemporary issues. This initiative forms part of our One Year Volunteer Program to provide the platform for young people to engage in strategy and policy design for future innovations.

Women form an integral part of community and socio - economic development. We have great interest in providing opportunities to young women in our country to form part of the decision making process of our organization. Our portfolio places high priority on women as the beneficiaries of our initiatives. Today, we celebrate the strong women in our organization contributing their efforts and time to make Ghana a better place.

The Accra Team visited the Agboblosie Market (Sodom & Gomorrah) in January to educate the market women on cervical cancer and human papillomavirus in our local dialect.

On World Cancer Day, we interacted with students at various Islamic Schools within the Nima - Kanda community to discuss Hepatitis virus and the best way to prevent the spread of the disease.

The Administrative Team held a meeting with Johnson & Johnson today to discuss our SWOT Analysis, SMART Goals and how best to work together to support the organization.

The Zurak Cancer Foundation Tamale team visited the  Lamashegu Market within the Tamale Metropolis to educate market women on cervical cancer. 

Our Chief Executive Officer has been featured in the One Young World video for the World Economic Forum. Our leader is a One Young World Ambassador and Johnson & Johnson Scholar. This year, we developed a strategy to take our market invasion to the Agbobloshie Market; the largest market in Accra, Ghana. The market is a cosmopolitan environment where dwellings are wooden shacks that lack water and sanitation. The area is also home to armed robbers, prostitutes, drug dealers and others involved in underground markets. Crime and disease run rampant throughout Agbogbloshie, creating an almost uninhabitable environment for humans. Outsiders have nicknamed the area “Sodom and Gomorrah,” after two condemned Biblical cities, due to the harsh living conditions in Agbogbloshie. We are looking forward to to implement our strategies at the market to provide solutions to cancer prevalence in the community.

Zurak Cancer Foundation honored its members during the Merck eHealth Meet Up End of Year Party. The Merck eHealth Meet Up is a monthly series inviting players in the health innovation industry to discuss solutions to health challenges in Ghana. Zurak Cancer Foundation is incubating under the Merck Entrepreneurial Development Space (MEDspace) and the organization played a vital role during the monthly series. As part of the organization's motive to encourage and motivate its team, the management developed a strategy to honor most deserving members of the organization who have contributed their time and efforts to take the organization to the next level.

Ninche Shot It, a media company providing services in photography and media coverage aimed at highlighting the positives in deprived societies and inspiring others to attain greatness through using available media to tell stories came to terms with Zurak Cancer Foundation to sign a distribution, promotion and exclusive media rights to provide the platform for “Ninche Shot It” to document the projects of Zurak Cancer Foundation for the year 2018. This partnership is expected to upgrade the brands of both parties through media. As part of Zurak Cancer Foundation transition process, the organization deem it necessary to propagate its endeavors through credible media platforms. We are so excited about this partnership and we looking forward to create change through the use of media.

The CEOs of Zurak Cancer Foundation, Abdul Samed Zurak and Aspire Coronation Trust (ACT), Ms. Osayi Alile together with Ndifreke Okwuegbunam, Head of Programmes, ACT Foundation met today at Labadi Beach Hotel to discuss the prospects of expanding ACT Foundation’s projects in Ghana. Aspire Coronation Trust (ACT) Foundation is a grant making organization established in 2016 to support local, national and regional non - profit organizations working to address challenges and associated vulnerabilities across the African Continent. Their vision is to leverage relationships to create effective social impact solutions across Africa, with a Mission to build sustainable societies by engaging initiatives that unleash potential and empowers beneficiaries. Their focus areas for intervention are Health, Entrepreneurship, Environment and Leadership. It’s a great pleasure meeting with the ACT Foundation team and we are looking forward to great collaborations on projects soon.
